User Guide.

The Forum and Gallery are available to club members.

These notes supplement the Help option in the Forum menu. The Forum "Help" menu describes all the features available in the forum software; however some of these features are not enabled in the NFKCC forum. In particular the sections concerning Registration, Calendar and some parts of Profiles do not apply.

The forum is configured for use with the mobile App TapaTalk.

Probably best not to enable this option in practice. Deselecting you get the following typical email:

Gallery

Uploading pictures and videos.

There are two types of Albums - Club Event "Albums" and "Members Albums". Club Albums have been created for various club activities and events.

myalbum

Members can upload files into the appropriate club Event Album or create a Member Album. All Albums are viewable by all members. Members can move / remove / edit their own pictures but not any others.

To create a new user alarm - click on the "My Albums" and then select "Add User Album".

If you would like a new "Club" Album please ask Jeremy / Steve.

Multiple files (pictures, video etc) can be uploaded together. There are some, quite generous, file limits. Pictures above 2MB in size will be compressed when they are uploaded. Video files larger than 2Mb can be uploaded individually.

Acrobat Flash Player is required for Multiple files to be uploaded and your browser must have Java Script enabled. Flash Player can be downloaded from Adobe.

The following file types are supported.

  • Image files: bmp, png, gif, jpg, jpe, jpeg
  • Audio files: mp2, mp3, mpga, ram, ra, wax, wma, m4a, a-latm, ogg, rpm, mka, wav
  • Video files: avi, mpg, mpeg, mpe, wmv, mxu, m4u, movie, qt, mov, rv, flv, mp4, mkv
  • Multimedia archives: zip

Note that your browser must support java script or Flash for the bulk upload feature to work.

It is also possible to put links to videos hosted on, for example, YouTube.

Viewing Pictures and Vidoes.

Some file types - particularly video - may require a suitable plug-in for your browser. These include plug-ins for "Media Player" and Quicktime.

The most recent additions to the gallery and a random selection of pictures is shown at the bottom of the gallery page.

Contacting Members via Forum
