Note this is on the 7th - not the 8th as stated in July's news letter!
This trip is currently full, but if any space becomes available we’ll update the calendar.
Paddle from Tanners lane across to Yarmouth, then hug the coast round past Fort Victoria, Fort Albert, Totland Bay and round into Allum Bay and on to the Needles.
The return is simply the opposite.
Top end of grade B trip. This is a long paddle – you must be happy paddling approx 17nm (32Km), which is about 6+ hours of paddling. There will be opportunities to stop and rest on the way and back. Paddle fitness is important though.
There is an open crossing across to the Island (and back) of approximately 2.9nm (5.5Km). You need to be comfortable paddling that distance without any opportunity to stop and get out!
Spaces for this trip are open to those who have been on previous grade B club trips and are looking at 3* level trips.
This trip is dependent on the weather and sea state. As this a trip open to most, we will change to plan B (Bucklers – Lymington) if there is too much swell or wind, as the narrows at Hurst can get ‘a little bumpy!’ If the Needles themselves are a bit bumpy we may well stop at Allum Bay.
Contact Steve for further details and to reserve your place. Book by Thursday 5th August (latest)
